Promotional mural on external hoarding. RWA, Bristol

The team at RWA, Bristol, commissioned me to paint a mural across an 11m stretch of hoarding outside their building, letting passers-by know what's in store after essential building works - part of the RWA's #LightAndInspiration project.

The mural artwork needed to be bold and eye-catching as it's a busy thoroughfare for commuters on foot and wheel. Keeping the colour palette to a minimum, working with clear typography and large, clean shapes helped with the legibility of this design.

Brilliant lettering and fellow muralist Emily Joy Rich - also based in Bristol - assisted in painting the design and she also turned her design eye to some of the lettering too.

Thanks to the RWA team and Beard (the construction company) for being so accommodating throughout and to photographer Lisa Whiting for the action shots.
