Vibrant welcome school fence mural. Badock's Wood E-Act Academy, Bristol

This 30m long fence mural transforms a dull stretch of fencing into a joyful, colourful and vibrant welcome to a primary school. It was commissioned and funded by Artists in Residence - a charity bringing high-quality artist residencies to schools across the UK.

The artwork highlights the three core values at Badock's Wood E-Act Academy and incorporates their tree logo brand. Additional imagery was derived from and inspired by a series of workshops run by Bristol-based duo 'Let's Make Art'.

Let’s Make Art have collaborated with Dave on a few projects - and we hope to do more! We worked together to produce murals in different schools in Bristol for the Artist in Residence initiative. We would provide a full day of workshops for children, engaging with the whole school, to produce artwork that would inform Dave’s final design.

Incorporating the children’s designs, the school’s values and colour palette preferences was a huge task, however Dave managed to include all the above and kept his signature style whilst being considerate to the children’s input. Dave was a pleasure to work with and the murals produced (even on uneven fencing!!) were amazing!
